Vivacious Vests

While rummaging through my sister Amelia’s closet, this unique vest caught my eye. She told me that she was having trouble finding things to wear with it, so of course I took that as a great blogging opportunity! This Bella Bella vest is in no way versatile, but is perfect for the holidays. It’s pattern is a perfect combination of subtle and vibrant, while also being the perfect combination of warmth and lightness. It almost gives off a tacky Christmas sweater vibe, but the fringe and zippers make it modern and stylish.

I paired this bold vest with a simple black cotton tee dress. The two-toned riding boots make the look casual, while the brown leather brings out the orange in the vest. Adding a statement necklace like this feather brings in a new texture but doesn’t distract from the vest or overpower it. A long necklace would look good with this, too!

To make the vest less noticeable, put a light jacket over it! I’m wearing a boat neck tank tucked in toย a fit to flare skirt to create a solid line, which continues on with the help of some black tights and booties. Patterned tights would also look good, as long as the design isn’t too busy. With theย vest peaking out, there’s just enough color to give the outfit a new and trendy element. I’m wearing my mom’s gold and pearl earrings with a chain from my grandmother to give the look a little bit of old school class and shine.

PS- Amelia made me promise to give her recognition for all of her clothes; so thanks A, for once you’re not the one rummaging through my closet!! Just kidding, it’s much appreciated.
