Murry Chrismuh my friends! For those of you who have to be somewhere at all hours of the day and are expected to look your holiday best, I have a solution to the day-to-night problem that may occur while trying to get dressed for each different party. I grabbed my favorite Halston Heritage dress and Steve Madden knee highs and styled it three different ways–for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! I figured a good way to stay in the same clothes for the entire gift-giving, family-filled day is to accessories differently for each “meal”, or time of the day. So here goes it.
Pro tip: Have your hair done in the AM. Bring travel sized baby powder or dry shampoo in your purse in case it gets greasy throughout the day. Also, bring your powders to freshen up your makeup after all of grandma’s cheek pinching and eye shadow and lipsticks to put some darker shades on as it gets later!
This dress is very low cut (as you’ll see in the next set of pictures), so to make it morning appropriate, I threw a cozy sweater on over it. Wear some thick socks that rise above the boots to make it even cozier!
This jacket doesn’t necessarily go with the forrest green dress, but the dress I had in mind was at the cleaners… So this just had to suffice to get the point across. Make your outfit just a bit dressier for the afternoon by pairing your dress and boots with a cool jacket.
For the final event: FUR. Makes any dress instantly look formal, even when you’re in flats! Red lips and diamonds always help, too.
May all of your Christmas’s be merry and bright and may all of your parties be filled with fashion and fun! If anyone needs a super last minute gift idea, a pre-paid closet consultation and personal styling from your’s truly might not be the worst idea;)
